David & Ululani Yamashiro started their Ululani’s Hawaiian Shave Ice journey in Lahaina, Maui in December 2008. Their Lahaina shops have been the foundation of success. Most of their west-side staff were born and raised in Lahaina and have given many good years of their lives. From the first shave ice… till the last, served on August 7th, 2023, countless memorable experiences were delivered by this team.
 
On Tuesday, August 8th, employees and all Lahaina residents suffered an unprecedented and horrendous wildfire that decimated the town. They lost their homes, schools, churches, and everything that they own.
 
David and Ululani lost two shops and a warehouse in the fire. They have received numerous calls, texts, and emails from family, friends, and past customers to help. Ululani’s Hawaiian Shave Ice is now providing support to their employees during this time of recovery and rebuilding with the help of generous donors.
