THE GOOD LIFE WITH DR. DANNY - “DR. ALPHONSO BROWN - ICAN PATHWAY TO MEDICINE PROGRAM”
How does a boy in New York with a younger brother who was sick most of his life and whose parents didn’t have a lot of money become a Harvard Medical School professor? How does that same professor become the founder of a program that inspires and trains inner city high school students to one day become medical doctors? This is the story of Dr. Alphonso Brown, whose life as a mentor is a reflection of Jesus and his disciples (Matthew 13:36).
Dr. Alphonso Brown is an assistant professor and clinical researcher in gastroenterology at Harvard Medical School. His practice is at Cambridge Health Alliance, a Harvard Teaching Hospital.He runs a clinical addiction practice and New Beginning Health PC. He is the founder of ICAN Pathway to Medicine Program. He is on the Advisory Council of UA SAFE Schools. He graduated from Harvard Medical School, with a residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and did his fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania with a master’s in biostatistics and epidemiology.
